  • About the Role:

    An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Chef.

    At Royal Freemasons our residents look forward to nutritious and delicious meals designed and cooked by our chefs and enjoy a warm and welcoming dining experience. 

    The Chef ensures the highest levels of service in food preparation, hygiene, kitchen services and hospitality standards are met. It is really important that you have a warm and hospitable personality and can relate to older people and deliver a wonderful customer service experience.

    You will be required to manage the production team which includes, Cooks, Kitchen Assistants and Kitchen Hands and oversee rosters, budgets, review of menus, OHS, kitchen hygiene and managing all daily operations within the kitchen.

    About You:

    Along with your cooking certification the successful candidate requires experience ideally within aged care but not essential and at least 2 years as a qualified Chef. You will be professionally presented, highly organised and self-motivated. 

    You will have strong written and oral communication, possess a customer centric approach, and have advanced computer competency.

    Key Requirements

    • Ideally previous experience within an Aged Care environment
    • Trade certificate or Diploma in Cookery
    • Food Handlers Certificate
    • Ability to work flexible hours (occasional weekend/evening) to ensure continuity of service
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Smart Phone and Home Internet are desirable
    • Mandatory flu vaccination 
    • Hold a police check clearance or have one completed
