Where you will be working

Leeton Health Service is a 71 bed Hospital, made up of 25 acute beds, 4 maternity beds and 38 residential aged care beds.

The facility provides emergency, medical, palliative, maternity, radiology and aged care services. A range of outpatient and community health services are also provided on the hospital grounds.

We are a thriving regional community approximately 6 hours’ drive west of Sydney in the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area (MIA). The MIA is one of the most productive and diverse agricultural regions in the country and plays an important role in feeding many Australians.

Leeton shire is home to approximately 11,000 residents who have access to range of high quality education, sporting and community facilities. About the Opportunity

This is a development opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to become a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), hired and paid as a RN and acting as CNE for the first six months.

Must complete Certificate IV in Training and Assessment within the first six months of employment. If obtained, a contract will be issued for employment as a CNE on a 12 month temporary contract, in which time you must complete a post graduate qualification in acute or specialty care.

Upon completion of your post graduate qualification and 12 month temporary CNE contract, you will be assessed for ongoing employment as a CNE.

Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate clinical education programs at the ward/unit level to support the education of nursing and midwifery staff to maintain quality care outcomes for patients and clients in accordance with the MLHD CNE/CME Framework.
